Film Restoration Summer School / FIAF Summer School

To be held at the Cineteca del Comune di Bologna and L’Immagine Ritrovata film restoration laboratory on international and highly specialized course devoted to conservation and digital and analogical restoration of motion pictures.

We would like to inform you that from June 28th to July 12th, 2008 Cineteca del Comune di Bologna and L’Immagine Ritrovata film restoration laboratory will host the Film Restoration Summer School / FIAF Summer School, international and highly specialized course devoted to conservation and digital and analogical restoration of motion pictures.
With the support of  Fédération International des Archives du Film (FIAF), Association des Cinémathèques Européennes (ACE) and MEDIA Plus Programme of the European Union, Cineteca di Bologna proposes a specific training programme: the 2008 edition of the course will be held exclusively for students who wish to  work into film archives; the 2009 edition will take up the same layout as the 2007 programme, representing a second training level.
From June 28th to July 5th 2008 the 22nd edition of Il Cinema Ritrovato Film Festival will also take place: this is the traditional occasion to discuss film archive-related issues, preservation of film heritage and film restoration, and to exchange ideas on how to present the history of film today. During the festival week the Film Restoration Summer School / FIAF Summer School will organize daily meetings and round-tables for its students, with some of the most distinguished experts in the film restoration field taking part.
